Joseph D.
Department Supervisor
Got tired of being on the sales floor, so he came into the back room to work
on getting some video games out onto the shelves. The department is very
behind on their video games right now, and because he doesn't want people
wasting their time looking for product in the backroom, he has instructed
all his employees to simply tell people that "if it isn't on the shelf, we don't have
it." That way they can focus on attaching more accessories and replacement
plans with the big sales that really count. That idea partially came from the
General Manager, Stan M., who is also tired of the department performing
terribly in accessory sales in comparison to the other 517 stores in the
company. Last month the department came in at #392 in the company, and if
that happens again, Joseph is sure that Stan will fire him. Because if Joseph
is unable to persuade his employees to sell properly, Stan will not receive
his monthly bonus in which he relies on now. Joseph is tired of all the people
who can't sell well in his department. He has been heard muttering under his
breath "I wish I could fuckin' fire you all." Specifically, he is looking to get rid
of Claudette and Sonia. Although they have been with the department longer
than anyone else, they aren't as good as salespeople, and Joseph does not
want to lose his job because they can't do theirs. The one person that Joseph
is happy with is Danny, the department Senior, because he will do anything
for a good sale, and those are the kind of people this department needs.
