COMMENTARY
-
The line about there
being six months free interest using a Best Buy card, so the
customer should get all the accessories now, was true, and
we were instructed to say it often.
-
We were told to offer
MSN internet access with every sale, and there was $200 off
the purchase with a 2 year commitment. But I do not know if
Bill Gates really poured a bunch of money into our stocks
in return for our commitment; that is only what I was told
by fellow employees.
-
When I say managers
stand around doing absolutely nothing, that is a bit of a
lie, but it is not incredibly far from the truth. Most nights
at that time managers would always be standing around
in circles, chatting most of the night away. I do not see
that near as much anymore. And there were times that I heard
managers being paged to different areas of the store, and
none of them would budge-- they had to finish their conversation
first.

I have no proof that
'Geoff' is the hairiest manager at the store, but that was
a nickname that had been thrown around, and I did not make
up the name "Wolfman."
-
'Stan Merced' is in
fact not a snake, he is a homosapien. But, he does have a
nickname of being "Stan the Snake," and I did not
make up the nickname. It existed before I started working
there, and it exists to this day.
-
I don't know if 'Dick'
really worked at K-Mart, but it was a rumor circulating the
store. It is true that we did call him "K-Tard,"
and again, I did not make up that nickname.
